Advanced MS Word layout

I have an existing Word document, made up of nine short stories. This is to be re-formatted for publication in imitation of a Victorian magazine. An example of this magazine is attached. The major requirement is that it be changed into two columns per page. However, there are a couple of footnotes which must extend the width of the page. There is also one image per story which also must fill the width of the page. As can be seen, the left-hand and right-hand pages are mirrored, with wide margins at the outside. Also, the page numbers are alternately left and right. Also, there is a major title on the left-hand page, which is the same throughout the document, and a story title on the right. The page size, font style, and margin sizes will be specified. As you will see, this requires very advanced Word skills.
