Hi, My requirement is to develop projects for undergraduate audience learning IT technologies. The Idea is that after completing their course we will provide audience case studies for which they need to create solutions (the apps). They should be able to complete the solution in around 5-6 hours. For the first projects we will provide them a case study to evaluate their knowledge on AJAX, JQUERY, JSON. For the server side we will use Java EE. However we won't test them on it (Java EE), but provide the code as input. The idea is to test and make them acquaint with the current industry programming practices on the presentation layer technologies (AJAX/JQuery/JSON). What I will provide is a list of objectives that we will test them on. This means the solution will require implementing those objectives. For example: JQuery UI elements JQuery effects JQuery validation Posting AJAX request as JSON (The server side component, say servlet will process it and store or retrieve data from database) Processing JSON response received from server Ajax callbacks .....You can suggest/add more to this list. Based on your input/suggestion I will create and share the case study and the requirements of the solution. You will let me know the feasibility of creating the solution. I am attaching one document with two such case study (currently in draft mode that will require much more refinements) . One is on ASP.NET and other on Hibernate. You should get a fair idea from them. Once we agree on the case study, you need to: Develop the completed Project solution with documentation (similar to the one I am attaching but more refined). The documentation will contain design diagrams (wireframes not required) maybe sequence diagrams/flow diagrams or any design diagrams relevant to the presentation layers with our technologies. Again your suggestions will be important. The functional and non functional requirements of the app (In the case study I will provide the high level ones, on which you can add to based on the solution you create). Few Unit Test Cases that can be used for evaluating the solution (say unit testing AJAX calls, and so on) Your suggestions along with any open source unit testing framework to use is welcome. Once, the complete solution is done, you will need to identify the code parts that are implementing our objectives and on which we want to asses the audience. Those code part will be removed. This means a skeleton solution will be provided to audience, which they need to complete within the designated time (5-6 hrs). If some can't do that, we will provide them the complete solution to study. This means you will provide the complete solution and the skeleton (partial) solution separately. The last important points. Being a project on the presentation layer the UI should look professional (CSS can be used) Once we are done with this one we need to create two similar projects on the same technologies and objectives, but different case studies. Say for example, If our first case study is on building a vising card ordering Web app, the second case study can be Online Flower ordering. So the effort, once the initial project is done, will be very less. I would like to hear your proposals,suggestions, questions for this along with your bid.
