I will be hosting "shows" on my website that will feature bands. We will interview the bands as well as stream their live performances. Advice is free. As far as equipment goes, a camera that is directly connected to your computer will be the primary in addition to software that is accepting and compressing the live video in addition to uploading it. You biggest problem of all will be your ISP or your hosting provider. You will require your own T3 T1 connection if you want to do it well. If you have a shared hosting account for your website, chances are that your hosting provider will shoot you down because of the bandwidth. Your issue will come not when one or maybe ten are watching a live stream but when hundreds or thousands are watching at the same time. The bandwidth requirement will be phenomenal.
