Building on the feedback you have received from the lecturer and your peers during your presentation
you will write a 750 word (excluding cover sheet and references) assignment based on the paper you
have selected. Your assignment will have to explore the main ideas of the paper and discuss the 2 HR
issues you have identified.
Your assignment should be structured as follows:
Cover sheet
o Title. This should be clear, informative and concise (i.e. “Individual Assignment” would
be a poor choice);
o Your names, student ID numbers, word count, and a table of contents. All of this
information should be in the cover page.
Introduction
o About 150 words;
o Summarizes the ideas of the article and presents the 2 HR issues raised by your analysis.
Body
o The body of your assignment aims to discuss the 2 HR issues raised by your analysis;
o Use subheadings to indicate the discussion of each issue. These should be descriptive of
the issues (“Issue 1” or “analysis” would be a poor choice);
o As you discuss each issue incorporate findings from both the article and additional
readings you may have done;
o Use about 250 words to discuss each issue (500 words in total);
Conclusion
o About 100 words summarizing the key ideas discussed in the assignment
References
o Start on a new page;
o Learn Harvard referencing and use it correctly and consistently;
o Ensure that you reference in text, as well as in the references section correctly;

o Do not state the title of an article in your report. The author’s surname and year of
publication is sufficient;
o Do not include the original articles when you submit your assignment. This is what
references are for – if we need to locate the original source, we can find out where it is
by looking at your references section.
Style
o 1,5 or double space the text and indent all new paragraphs;
o Times New Roman or Arial 12ppt;
o Carefully edit for consistency-tone, style, voice (do not use “we” or “I”), person (do not
address the reader, e.g., “you”). The heading formats, page formats, and font sizes must
be consistent;
o Carefully proofread for grammar, spelling, word choice, punctuation errors;
o All pages after the table of contents should be numbered;
o Place numbers in the headers or at the bottom of the page - either centred or at the
right edge;
o Be correct and consistent with capitalization of words. Do not capitalize a word because
you think it is important. Only capitalize words that are supposed to be capitalized (e.g.,
a person’s name, or place).
