Build a web app prototype

Browser based teams requires teamwork at varying degrees. While some can be played solo most of the interesting games require some team work. We are into building a chat application that can be plugged in or integrated into browser based games. We intend to add more features in the future that'll allow for collaboration, event planning etc.
For the present prototype we intend to build a chat system that could be easily plugged into another web app with minimal code. Suggestions are welcome to how this could be accomplished or if not reasons why this can't be accomplished. We already have developed some ideas but we would like to hear your expert opinion too.
Techstack:
Client: Bootstrap, AngularJS
Server: Any Python or Node.js Frameworks, please mention what framework you prefer and why
Other: Redis, Linux, Mongo
