I need a "quick and dirty" web-based app that collects a data file (feed) and merges the data into a standard GeoRSS enabled AtomPub file. The process simply grabs a CSV/XML file (or similar), parses it and structures it as a GeoRSS Atom file. The key here is to extract lat/lng coordinates and make the data accessible as an Atom file. As part of the data modeling process, I would like a simple method to manually map the fields from the source file to metadata in the final Atom file. AND, the ability to save the mapping schema as an XML file. Perhaps a point and click approach that builds the schema. The source feed will be structured in various formats: csv, xml, kml, txt. If the source feed has geo coordinate (lat/lng), I need it to map metadata based on GeoRSS standard declarations (i.e., georss:polygon, georss:line, georss:box, etc.). Attached are sample files for you to analyze. One thing to note... KML files may have polygon geo coordinates rather than points. In summary the basic idea is to provide a way to standardize a single feed into GeoRSS AtomPub format and create a data model schema as a separate file (for data integration). Later, if the source feed URL is called again, the schema file is used rather than running the data modeler component. The preferred "development" environment is a typical LAMP stack. PHP4+, Mysql 4. But, Python is probably the better approach. Source feeds are accessible from http URL. This project will be quick: 2 days max. Edit: time frame is flexible. I can assist you if needed. I'm working on the data modeler now. **This could be an ongoing project** as we build data modeling schemas for a variety of feeds. Thanks
