App to Generate Keyboard HotKeys

**With your bid, please indicate if anything on this list is not possible as well as the mechanics of how the application will need to be installed by the end user.** **_Overview:_** I need a small application that can be installed on a client computer that enables certain keys on a keyboard to act as hot keys that take the user to specific web pages. This application should be loaded at startup, and run in the background with a small icon displayed near the clock in the taskbar. (I will provide an icon image) Most buttons should only be hot keys while a web browser is open while others should work any time the installed application is running. *IMPORTANT: THIS PROGRAM WILL NEED A FACILITY TO CHECK AND SEE IF A BROWSER WINDOW IS CURRENTLY OPENED IN ORDER TO FUNCTION PROPERLY*. (Right now just Netscape or Internet Explorer, but I would like the ability to add other browsers in the future) ***Please see the attached ZIP file which contains a detailed Word Document of exactly what I need.*** ## Deliverables **_What I Will Give:_** I will provide the selected coder with a list of the links that should be associated with each key. I am more than willing to test the application as much as the coder needs to iron-out any bugs. I will also provide the icon image in any format the coder asks for. **_What I Expect:_** I expect a program that works exactly as described within the Word document, or negotiated in any contact between myself and the coder THROUGH THE RENT-A-CODER web site. I expect a streamlined installation file to ease the distribution to my users. (If you can’t create an installer you can still bid, **BUT YOU MUST NOTE WITHIN YOUR BID THAT YOU WILL NOT BE INCLUDING AN INSTALLER**.) Finally, I will need you to send me your uncompiled uncompleted code each night so I can track your progress. It doesn’t need to work, I just want to see it. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform This application will need to run on a Windows 2K or newer OS running either Netscape or Internet Explorer. If there are specific versions that this app will not work with, I will need to know **IN ADVANCE.**
