I have developed similar tools for last many years. I can for sure deliver a neat solution for you. Designed for scale and developed. However: 1> request you to detail this down further. The requirements are from 30K feet. 2> The timelines, i presume are put as 1-4 weeks for the lack of clarity. A nice ground up solution can not be built(even with lot of open-source tool integration). In this timeframe only an existing solution can be customized and delivered. 3> If you choose me for the work, request you to concentrate on scalability and efficient design. We would agree upon only the flow and content of the screen. Tidying up would be taken up in the last phase. So what I mean that we will settle only on UX - UI to quote the jargon. 4> I can not do this alone. I will have other people involved. The overall responsibility and ownership would be mine. I was part of a team that has developed the Custom OLAP and reporting engine as SASS platform for call centers to analyze the overall performance of agents based on different dimensions. We have designed the complete star schema based OLAP in 6 months . In my opinion, your project architecture would have following main screens or pages : 1) Dashboard screen -- Four select-able pre -reports with bookmarking functionality. 2) Analysis -- Option to create reports based on different dimensions . User can view the data in different graphs like pie, line chart and Bar chart based on selection of type of chart. Save the report as bookmark and use this report in Dashboard screen. This screen also has bookmarking functionality. 3) Bookmarks screen -- Can delete/view already created dashboard and analysis bookmarks. There would be also be a loader (ETL) that pull data from your DB and put into OLAP at regular intervals. If you want, we can have skype or regular call to discuss more.
