I like my explorer in the "classic style" with the all files listed in "detail", but since the last couple of automatic Windows updates, it shows all files as icons by default. Until recently, if I clicked on View Detail, Windows remembered this for that particular folder, and over time all of my regularly visited folders would start up in detail, so the manual configuration was only minimal. Recently, however, all files in all folder are not only icons by default, but Windows no longer remembers the detail setting when I revisit folders. I've tried "Aplly to all Folder", but it does not seem to work. It's become a pain, so I would like someone to call at my home to put it right. I also would like this person to get rid of all my users but one, me, as administrator, as I have reinstalled a couple of times, and I have more than one My Documents etc, which I would like pruning back into one of everything.
How much to call at my house (Witney, Oxfordshire, UK) and carry this out?
