Database table features in the backend of our PHP website

In the backend of our PHP website there is a database table of our inventory. We would like to change the way the table is displayed as well as create some new columns that can track some new information. Right now there are columns in this table that tell us the number of items in stock. We would like to add columns that give us totals for various other states of our inventory. We need to know how many items have been added to our customers orders which have been submitted but not yet paid for. We would like to know how many items have been paid for but have not shipped. Once you get to know our database this information should be easy to spot and add to our table.
