I can do a php script which you will upload it to the linux server and run it through a web link to rename all files as you demanded.

I can create a simple PHP script, that can check the folder for file-names that contain lowercase characters and converts the file to uppercase. You can simply bookmark this page in your browser and open it to run it. Assumption: A1: The directory that contains the files to be renamed is referred to as 'target directory' A2: The server that holds the target directory is referred to as 'target host' A3: renaming will be applied to all files in the target directory A4: the target directory does not contain any directories A5: you have write access to the target directory A6: on the target host a php enabled web server is running which you have the privileges to deploy php files to. You have administrator privileges for the web server and php. No php commands are disabled. A7: you have write access to a directory outside the target directory where you can deploy and execute a shell script A8: you can make the shell script accessible and executable to the user on the Linux server that runs the web server A9: names of files in the target directory do contain only ASCII characters A10: no particular web design for the php file is required Required information: absolute path to the directory that contains the files that will bee renamed absolute path to the bash or ksh executable on the target host Deliverable: One shell script, which when run will rename files in the target directory in such a way that file names are lowercase. If files contain other characters than ASCII characters the script might work but the result cannot be predicted. One php file which will trigger the shell script when a button is clicked
