Design: Improve our Search tool for Worklist

We are LoveMachine ([login to view URL]) We have an application, which you can use and test at [login to view URL] It is PHP, MySQL, AJAX,JavaScript, Apache on Linux. The source code is at [login to view URL] Put together a simple plan for how to improve search on worklist. Criteria: 1. must be intuitive to new users, i.e. follow UI standards established by google ([login to view URL] ) 2. must include the following basic 'advanced' search functionality: multi-word strings in quotes ("find these words together"), exclusion (-notThis), default AND (this that) and optional OR (this OR that). 3. search should include text from a job's summary and notes, as well as associated people and item number. If any other fields (e.g. comments) need to be included, make a case for why. 4. should allow for the search of any word, no matter how small or common. 5. should be efficient, both in terms of speed-to-return-results and tax on the database. Notes: A. Feel free to consider any associated changes that would need to occur, such as indexing or using a secondary service, but keep in mind that the goal is to find the quickest 'clean' fix, not the most extensive or comprehensive. Employer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement). 2) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 3) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Employer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Employer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the employer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this project. ## Platform MySQL, AJAX, JavaScript, PHP, Apache
