Change to search function and add entry function - joomla

There are two changes below, both need to be completed.

On the above page there are two boxes for Sire and Dam. Right now there is a long drop down list, sire contains all the male dogs, and dam contains all the female dogs. You can make the list shorter by using the search box on the right. I want to change the search so that users have to type the name in the field and a list of all similar names will come up. Like the example on this page: [url removed, login to view] (type a letter in the name box). In the example the list of names pushes all the other fields down. Instead I want the list of names to appear above the other fields (z-index). Also, since it will be a text field there will need to be an additional validation done on submission, to make sure that the name typed is actually a dog in the database. If the dog is not in the list the user will get a warning message and they will need to choose a valid dog.

On the same page I want to add an extra field to allow the user to upload a profile picture for their dog. Right now the user must first create the profile and then come back and use the "Upload Photos" tab to insert an image. The upload image box should be under the "Name" field.
