Principal objectives: - To develop a system which will aid students of the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence module (CS1140) to understand and learn Huffman's object recognition algorithm. - A student will be able to select a line drawing from a predefined set of drawings and specify an order in which the junctions in the drawing will be examined. The student will then be able to examine Huffman's search tree that corresponds to the drawing. - A graphical overview of the whole tree will be shown as well as a detailed view of a small part of the tree. The student will navigate the tree, allowing them to see any part of the tree in detail. The detailed view will show for each node: (1) the partial labelling obtained so far; (2) a graphical reference to the most recently used entry in the Huffman catalogue of valid labeling. - The GUI should provide a beginner-friendly but precise explanation of what is shown at each stage of the user interaction. - Also allows importing of simple drawings in some common Vector-graphics format or allow the student to create and edit simple line drawings. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Need this coded in simple java programs such as JCeator LE or Oracle Java Developer. Since java is multi platform does not matter but ill be using it in windows xp. There is something called JSolver which is a constraint library which could be used for this project. But JSolver is a commercial product (I think) so code around it or use something else if you can.
