**A Simple Burglar Alarm ** A simple burglar alarm system is to be developed that consists of six sensitive zones. Each zone will have a simple PIR binary input together with a visual output to indicate its state. The system will also have a simple menu driven facility to allow the user to manage the system. **_Functionality_** Each zone will operate in one of three states, namely 1. Off Indicated by its associated LED being extinguished. Whilst in this state the zone should not respond to being triggered. 2. Armed Indicated by its associated LED flashing slowly (1fps) Whilst in this state the zone should respond to being triggered. 3. Triggered Indicated by its associated LED flashing quickly (2fps) Whilst in this state the zone should ignore the trigger being removed. The management system will provide the following 1. Set individual zones to “off??. 2. Set individual zones to “armed??. 3. Reset an individual zone after being triggered & trigger cleared. **_CONTINUED IN PLATFORM SECTION _** ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. It should be possible to switch between the two states at any time **_ Practicalities _**The system should be developed using the ‘C’ programming language and operate upon the MC68HC11 microcontroller boards together with one or more of the I/O boxes, connecting wires etc. As PIR devices are not available their action can be simulated using the switches available on the I/O boxes.
