The Microsoft Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) protocol is used to transfer files (downloads or uploads) between a client and server and provides progress information related to the transfers. I am looking for a developer to implement a version of the Microsoft BITS client protocol library that can be used on Mac OSX and Linux-varients. BITS is bundled in XP SP2, but we would like a solution that we can use on other platforms. In conjunction with this client library, I would be interested in having one develop the server-end of the BITS service as a Servlet/Java library to handle file uploads. One can learn more about BITS on the Microsoft website. [login to view URL]?frame=true After this work is completed, we might consider releasing it under an open source license.
