I have a DB with 13000 itmes....
two key factors inside my ProductVariant table is:
My SKU Field and my Manufacturer Part Field.
The above fields will contain data like below for example:
SKU / MANUFACTURERPARTNUMBER
1234 / FW1234SM
1235 / FW1234MD
1236 / FW1234LG
2345 / UA1234OR
2346 / UA1234BL
2347 / UA1234GR
As you can see in the first three rows this item needs to be combined inside the ProductVariant table like below
SKU / MANUFACTURERPARTNUMBER / SIZE / COLOR / SKUMODIFIERS
null / FW1234 / Small, Medium, Large / null / 1234, 1235, 1236
and for the last three rows the data would look like:
null / UA1234 / null / Orange, Black, Green / 2345,2346,2347
Please keep in mind that sizes and colors could vary... so please make it easy to make changes to the code to take this into consideration... for example an items sizes could look like:
SM - SMALL, MD - MEDIUM, LG - LARGE
and the next item could look like:
XS - X-SMALL, SD - SMALL/MEDIUM, ML - MEDIUM/LARGE
please make it easy to change or add size queries...

## Platform
My database is a SQL 2005 DB... Please Use VB.NET 2005 as thats what I am most comfortable with.... I am NOT opposed to alterate methods such as C++ - I will just need some type of config settings that I can control - searches...
for example - my vendor may decide to change wt = white to wwt = white one day... please take that into consideration
