My database is causing excess load on a shared server, to the extent that the hosting company has disabled access to it. I need someone to go through the database, and perhaps the plugins being used, in order the load be reduced and the site restored. Some examples given as to what might be needed are: Resolving this situation may be as simple as modifying the code to to use mysql_connect instead of mysql_pconnect, closing connections sooner, adding additional indexes to your database, optimizing the queries used, or something equally easy. Excessive MySQL activity is caused by (a) a long-running process that locks a table, causing other queries to back up, (b) a query that is not optimized ][example: select all from ... and involving a large or complex query], (c) huge table copies/maintenance during peak hours. Additionally, adding indexes to your table(s) may improve performance. If you're not sure what you're doing, it's best not to modify any table; caution is recommended. There are various articles ([login to view URL]). It may be best to Google for something like [Your Software Name] MySQL indexes for suggestions.

I have already worked on performance tuning in Sql Server Data base . I have implemented indexes and modified queiries First i will check DB Design if any thing is missing or added unnecessary (which are taking more resource),will add or remove from Database. If DB Design is perfect then i will go through Database Query ,it may be query is not written well that impacts on performance. At Last i will check indexes ,if required then will add indexes.
