Convert functional android app from activity to fragment

My requirement is fairly simple, but I can't figure out how to do it. I have a working android app, that has just one activity. I would like to change interface to use the android swipe tabs - to do this I believe that I need to chance my activity to a fragment. I have got an app working the way I want it to LOOK, but I cannot get my code to work with it.
So that would be the requirement - to change my activity to a fragment, and get it working with swipey tabs. I have an example apk I made of how it should look, and I have my code working in an activity.
I will supply my code for the current, functional activity based app, and can supply the apk of the way I want the revised app to look.
