We are looking for somebody to work with our existing development team to do webpage design and layout for an entire month amounting to about 40 hours a week.
Skills:
This person will have an artist’s heart that uses the web to paint their art.
The required skills are:
* Use of a known graphics application like Fireworks, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
* HTML & DHTML
* Javascript
* Flash a big plus, but not a requirement
As you can see the requirements are primarily Client-side skills. However, if you also have experience in programming server-side languages the following are preferable: ASP, PHP, SQL (MySQL)
What to expect:
This person’s day would be comprised of 3-5 audio conversations a week with another programmer at an agreed to time, as well as e-mail communications throughout their workday with various individuals in the organization. Their work would be comprised of two parts:
1) Project based - We have a list of projects that we are currently working on. They would be responsible for doing their part of these projects and delivering the results on schedule and of high quality. (60%)
2) Daily Support - Bugs, Fixes, and Support the current system as needed. This occurs when a customer service person e-mails with a potential problem, and includes researching and fixing (or clarifying to the individual why it is behaving the way it is). (40%)
We would prefer that this individual use their own software for this work, however we do have limited resources in some applications. Inquire if necessary.
If your interested in this job please provide several examples of your work. Samples should include full-page layouts demonstrating your expertise in graphics and client side applications. In addition, if you would like to provide examples of server-side applications, also, that would also be acceptable. Future and/or ongoing work is a definite possibility, especially if you do good work.
