Consumer Kitchen Appliance Design for Prototyping

Estimated time-frame for completion of work: 2 to 6 weeks Seeking a high-energy, passionate and talented individual or group to take on an ambitious product design for prototyping. While this is not a design for manufacture, but a design for prototyping only project, end-stage manufacturing and automated assembly must be a consideration that guides the project design. The project utilizes electrical and other fuel heating components, and the ideal candidate will have an advanced knowledge of materials engineering to be able to work within certain space and design constraints to achieve the desired tolerances and targets. As such, a working knowledge of Solidworks Flow Simulation is strongly preferred, to prevent unnecessary redesign when a prototype or prototypes are fabricated. The client has created a number of SolidWorks files to use as a starting point or reference for the work to be completed by the contractor. The contractor is encouraged to add his or her own creative embellishments to enhance the form and/or function of these reference designs. This is a job for someone who can think out of the box, independently, while also staying true to the client's original design intent. Project Responsibilities, Candidate Qualifications: > Industrial Design for prototyping of one or more concepts for consumer household appliances > Working knowledge of Solidworks best practices and design principles, especially sheet metal, surfaces, and mold design > Working with assemblies containing 80+ components > Multiple product renders, animations, use scenarios > Creative, driven, high output, contributory personality, eager to help and see a job through to completion
