I would consider myself very experienced in using Excel and editing spreadsheets. I have used Excel for data analysis purposes which means using the PowerPivot plugon and various other plugins for that purpose. As a computer science student I have been on couple of courses related to data analysis. One of these courses had a competition for creating the best analysis of a data set provided by CNC company. I worked with my friends and we won an award for the best data analysis of the data gathered by the company's automation. I'd like to know more about your project in detail. What are the objectives, what kind of data needs entrying with Excel?
