Design a Logo

Haines Power System Engineering is a small design consultancy that specialises in providing technical design services to the electricity transmission and distribution industry. We need a logo designed that is professional and distinctive. I first attempt at a logo has been made, although we are seeking further refinement (or even a new idea). The current idea as attached uses the letters HPSE (as the company will be commonly known) in large letters with the 'E' represented by a power plug. The current plug doesn't look enough like an E to be easily recognisable. We would like to either have this refined or replace the symbol with something else. Other ideas for the E include a power cord that makes up the E with a plug on the end, or the use of banded resistors that would typically be found on a circuit board to make up the 'branches' of the E. We would also like the full name of the business included in the logo (i.e. Haines Power System Engineering). We like the blue colour that is shown in the current logo design but would be open to other colours as well. While we would be happy with a tweaked version of the sample file, we're also open to completely different ideas. The output of the design task would be to have the logo developed and supplied in a number of formats that would typically be requested by publishers, and various sizes/formats for use in documents, letterheads, advertising flyers etc. It is required that all rights to the use of the logo will be handed to HPSE following payment including all IP developed during the project. If this logo design task is successful it may lead into future work including the design of a full suite of business documents such as letterhead, word templates, PowerPoint templates etc.
