Also, if you are using a standard car alternator:
- These are 3-phase devices requiring 6 diodes for rectification. Conventional 4 diode rectifiers do not work.
- They output high frequency, requiring specialized diode.
- If you want to get full capacity (usually 80+ amperes), the diodes come in metal casing so that they can be fixed on a metal plate for heat dissipation. Hence, there is no PCB, only a metal plate and cable soldering.
- If you Don't want full capacity (< 5A, for example) a PCB with diodes will be enough.
In all cases, I can design and, if necessary, prototype a rectifier circuit.
