Contact less car park barrier control

need to develop a car park barrier control, to be able to work contact less (i.e : a car can come and have to wait no more than few seconds for the barrier to verify the car's id and act accordingly). no swiping / no button pressing. beside this the control system must be able to verify accurately of what kind of authorisation does that car have (time periods) and keep a log of who is coming and going and when. a back up/ manual override system is a must have requirement. this is a graduation level project. solution is needed in both form of software & hardware demonstration. for hardware part, as long as, working diagrams following my requirements can be given, so that i can build it up myself, solution will be accepted. solution based on RFID technology would be great. like if a tag kind of thing can be attached in the car body and a rfid reader built in the barrier. programme language can be in Mplab applicable. deadline: 8 February'12
