In market research, verbatim coding (text answers of surveys) is the assignment of numeric codes to various words, phrases, ideas, sounds, or pictures so that information and meaning can be extracted and analyzed quantitatively. The principle is very straight forward. Usually you have a list of codes in one excel sheet, called a code frame. It looks like this:
the color Red = code 1
The color Blue = code 2
the color Green = code 3
In the other excel sheet you have the answers of the respondents in full sentences like this:
"I like the Red color", "I think I go for the blue color", etc... .
As a coder you need to assign the codes of the code frame to the verbatim (text answers) that are mentioned accordingly. This example is quite simple of course in reality the codes could be more than just a word and it can be about any other subject. Enclosed you have the codeframe and the verbatim that needs to be coded.
Projects needs to be delivered by tomorrow 5pm CET. Please not that you need to be able to speak slovenian.
