I'll use Tesseract OCR to recognize the strings. It won't work if they're intentionally obfuscated, like CAPTCHAs, but in that case I'd have to report you anyway.

I've already designed something to do this. Last Septempber I wrote a web craawler from scrath. Though I only used this feature once, I gave it the ability to do OCR, using Linux & Tesseract (OCR by Google). I'm a new freelancer -- You're also a new employer. If you want me to do 1000k images, I can do that. First, I want you to show me you have 5000 via a desktop sharing platform like http://join.me. If you want to send me 10 images, so I can get a preview, that would also be nice. Thanks.

Though I had developed algorithm based on machine learning techniques for hand written text, that usually has % accuracy attached to the approach: typically good one would still be 95% accurate, while bad one could be as low as 55-60%. Not recommended. Since you need 100% accuracy, I propose to use the following approach: a) I shall scan the png data & identify the white space around it, as well as the letters portion. b) Then attempt to match a known character definition for a letter (say '6') from already recognised letters. c) If match found, add to decoded string and the rest of the image is checked. d) Should we run into an unknown letter (i.e. no match found from current list of recognized letters), then the output i.e decoded string shall have an error message "<Error>". e) Manually review error case, extract new letter definition & store; re-run all. e) Iterate the logic until all 10 digits and 26 alphabets (or required unique) have been recognized. Once we have the definition of all the 36/unique, we should not see any error in the decoded string. Result would be 100% correct. IMPORTANT: The above technique assumes that each letter (say alphabet 'F' or digit '4') is represented in the same way in all the 28000 pictures i.e. they are printed from the same source and have the same pixel distribution with color. Overall: extract pixels from given picture to match recognized letter pixels (max 10 digits + 26 letters). Please provide sample pictures, not attached.

Hey there , i have couple ideas for you . 1) If your pics are not captcha then i can code OCR app for you which will not good one but it will work. 2) If it is captcha pictures then i have method which crack captchas like 99% success . Please contact with me as soon as possible , i will share my skype or Team Viewer and you will see how it work . Im not gonna use app from net , i will code them from 0 . and maybe i will give them to you .

First We will ocr the file check with name of the file with the data. A small macro/batch file will check with file and data. If exception occurred then we will check with the file and data and correct it. Please upload the Image. * We have Best OCR Engine Software.(Abby Fine Reader).

First i will change all images names to numbers (1,2,3,4,5 etc) then i'll make excel file with two columns 1st FILE NAME and 2nd TEXT. then i'll put 1 to 1000 in FILE NAME and using OCR i'll write Characters in TEXT.
