Instead it my intention is to make the thing correct with a solid discussion with you on the requirement. - There will be an Admin of the system who will create the users role. I mean he will assign Manager and Users. - Manager and main admin will have the ability to create tasks and assigned it to other users. - According to my assumption, a task can be assigned to multiple users and vice versa. Can you please confirm me? - When user will login to the system, he will be able to see assigned tasks for him in his board. I am not sure you want the same Drag and drop features like Jira or not, please clarify. At any case, I am assuming this would be in your design and I will not have to work on this. Some logical question: - Can an user edit the status? I am assuming user will mark a task done so can he revert it to in progress? - It obvious that we will have to give features to revert task status for Manager, is it not? - Task will be under projects or just assigning task is ok for you? - Just a thought for huge task list, pop-up may cause bad user experience, is it not? Whatever, I think would be best if you can please share me your current application database along with the ready screens. I will map with the requirement and will get back to you.
