Audio Editing For Podcast

I run the Disrupting Japan podcast. For the past two years, I’ve been doing it myself and now want to outsource the interview editing and final production. [login to view URL] Most of the people I interview are Japanese and speaking English as a second language — sometimes poorly. This requires a lot of skilled editing. You’ll need to remove all (at least most) of the “ums” and false starts. You will also sometimes need to make multiple edits within a single sentence, chopping out an errant word and shortening the pauses between words. If you have the ears and the sense to do that editing, I’m sure you’ll also be able to handle things like assembling the podcast inserting the ads, fixing the levels and such. For this project, we’re just talking about the editing. The raw interviews are usually a bit less than an hour. After I get the cleaned up audio back from you, I’ll edit for content and mix down. I eventually wish to outsource everything aspect of production except for the editorial decisions about which interview questions are edited out. For now though, I need to make sure I can find someone who can handle the editing required to make the non-native English speakers (and me too, I suppose) sound good in English. By the way, be sure to mention something about the non-native English speakers in your reply so I know who has actually read the brief.
