ABOUT OCTAPUSES

My name is Dimitris.I am 36 years old,but when i was younger,i used to fish with a fish gun and catching octapuses. My family have a house in a very small Greek island,called "Agistri". Agistri was the island that at the sea,had plenty of octapuses and i used to go there every summer to fish octapuses with my [login to view URL] was amazing!! I used to catch more than 10 kilogramms. But,i want to say to this nice site something that is a crime against the nature. Many people coming from Athens,wanted to catch octapuses and to use for that purpose Chlorine(NaHCl), a chemical [login to view URL] used to put this staff inside the nest (the hole where the octapus live),the octapus cannot breath and it comes out immediately from their"house",i mean the hole where they live and then it is very very easy to catch [login to view URL] if the coast yard see that,the people that use this stuff,have to pay more than 1,000 euro as a penalty. But ...In Agistri the authorities didn't care... This chemical product,goes inside the nest(the hole where the octapus live) and kills all the egs of the octapus and also no any octapus goes inside that hole in the next 10 years. Now,the polution is so big that Agistri does not have even one octapus. I am very disapointed,because i used to catch fishes with my fishgun and feed the small octapuses,so they could have food and to grow up.I am also disapointed with the coast yard because the police knew that but no action by them. I hope one day the "GREEN PEACE" will stop this crime that is against the nature. Thank you for reading my articcle. Really thank you!
