I need a full revamp of the welcome/login page at my site, www.gangstabighouse.com. This is an established online multiplayer game with a prison gang theme. I only need to change the very first welcome page, which should have a description of the game, login capability, and links to a signup page (already in place--no changes desired) as well as links to more detailed game instructions, rules, and screenshots. The page must have a rich, inviting graphic look which makes it immediately attractive to potential players. Judicious use of Javascript popups/simple animations welcome. Not interested in adding flash animation (simple animated gif or javascript-based animation is OK). Other similar games that have welcome pages with same features (although different themes) include [login to view URL] and reignofblood.net.
This project has two components -- creation of original graphics, and design of the page layout. Bidding teams that can offer both skills are desired, but please also respond if you want to offer either one separately.
Part I will be selection of original graphics (stock photos/graphics are discouraged). Bidders are required to show sample portfolio of past work, preferably images currently in use in public websites. I envision a single focal graphic for the welcome page, but will consider ideas for more than one graphic for the page. Bids should include fixed price for the image(s) and initial project will be approved only after we agree on a sketch/main idea of what the graphics will look like.
Part II will be for creation of the page design and layout, including color, placement, functionality, fonts, backgrounds, texture, etc. Payment for this phase will be by hourly rate, divided in phases, each with an agreed upon deliverable. Bidders should state hourly rate and estimated number of hours for entire page design and layout (all phases of Part II combined) to create a page similar to the examples above, assuming the graphics to be created in Part I are available. Inadequate performance in any segment of Part II will result in cancellation of any or all subsequent segments. Although my site uses php for dynamic pages, I will accept html+css+javascript+images and I will incorporate into php myself. Use of html tables for layout is not acceptable. Page should be visible in IE6+, Firefox, and Safari. Total page size including images, css, scripts, etc. should be less than 200kB. Any Javascript use should use the JQuery framework and allow for graceful degradation when browsers turn javascript off.
Please feel free to ask questions and to propose arrangements slightly different than described above, although I will not necessarily respond to offers that do not conform to the requirements.
