New eCommerce Website

Hello and thank you for considering bidding on this job. We are an ecommerce store that sells both completed handmade crafts and craft supplies. Our customers include individuals as well as other craft manufacturers and suppliers. We currently sell through established on-line marketplaces and due to growth, now need our own ecommerce web site. We have the domain registered and hosting set up. We need you to design and create the web site and get it up and running. Specifically, we need the site to look and function like s a v e - o n - c r a f t [login to view URL] (without spaces) with exceptions as noted below. We DO NOT want the site to infringe upon copyright of the site mentioned; we are just using their site as an example for design and functionality. We will need colors and logos to be different and the main and sub menu categories will be different because we have different products from the example site. Functionality and link depths are to be duplicated. We can provide photographs and product descriptions for the initial population of the site. We will supply the logo to be used throughout the site Site Features The site will need to be built with SEO in mind to maximize exposure; Search Engine Optimized (SEO) friendly URLs as well as the ability to easily manage meta tags, keywords, and other factors that contribute to our search engine rankings is important. The whole objective of this site is to drive a dramatic increase in order volume. Also, we need Real Time Usage tracking to view search stats that will allow us to see how often a particular listing has been viewed AND how often it appeared in search results giving us useful information on what search criteria is being used the most. The site will be designed to allow us to manage directory categories through a site manager interface (admin panel) to add/delete and edit directory categories; upload photos and change text at any time; we currently use Dreamweaver so we would like to be able to update, etc using Dreamweaver. CMS or other automated methods to upload products and changes is essential - something easy for us to do ourselves please. We should be able to edit main and sub categories from Admin. Additional features: • Ability for pricing, quantity, and special offers to be input/managed by Admin • Customer should be able to login and see their info and check order status (this function should be able to be disabled). • Discount Code Management to enable us to create and edit discount codes for either a percentage discount or set discount amount. Commencement and expiry date to be set. Code name to be set (not auto generated). • We would like to have a photo zoom-in to item feature (the example site does not have this). • Cross sale (upsale) insertion of items at checkout. • The example site has a “live chat” function. No “live chat” function needed for our site. • The example site displays the remaining inventory quantity “in stock” in the checkout cart screen. This is not desired for our site. • We would like the ability for a website visitor to pay for an item or send a message regarding that specific item. • Payment will interface with PayPal and also accent various payment methods as shown in example site. Ordering The shipping calculator feature will be for either United States or international buyers. Checkout must support international customer locations (the example site does not) Order engine will send email confirmation to customer and our own email address. Note that the site we mentioned as an example does not allow the customer to indicate HOW MANY of the item should be placed into the shopping cart, that function must be corrected for our site. This job needs to be completed on time with no mistakes and clean code. All rights, software, code, etc. will remain mine and none can be displayed (as a portfolio item or for any other reason), distributed, licensed, sold, etc. to others. Payment will be via escrow as follows: 40% at the time of code presentation on your server for testing the site by our team 10% on acceptance after resolution of issues, bugs, etc. 20% on acceptance after migration to our server 30% on final acceptance If you have questions or you don’t understand our requirements, please ask us for clarification.
