Create a bootable USB thumb drive and basic Menu to allow for Disaster recovery of Point of Sale Windows XP embedded workstations.
Technical specifications and functional requirements:
1 USB bootable Thumb drive and USB portable HDD containing all backup images from W/S’s
2 System boots from USB thumb drive when present in workstation
3 Separate hidden boot sector on USB thumb drive
4 Second partition with Recovery console and Recovery Image (currently using [login to view URL])
5 Read CPU ID from machine and verify against [login to view URL] file on USB thumb drive [security]
6 Store each W/S CPU ID and license in [login to view URL] file on USB thumb drive
7 [login to view URL] file to contain licensing information for each W/S
8 Each Workstation to be uniquely identified ie. Workstation1, Workstation2, etc
9 Recovery USB to contain (Recovery Console GUI)[Linux] and Visual Basic
10 GUI to provide x2 (Two) options:
i. Recovery from previous backup (exact & complete recovery stored in S:\TouchDR\Backup
ii. Continue using onboard generic image (loaded from USB thumb drive.
11 Workstation generic image is <2GigBytes stored in [login to view URL] format
All rights to be transferred. Must include source code, must include detailed comments in source code.
