The Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE (SHCH) in Phniom Penh, Cambodia, has a mission to deliver affordable, high-quality medical care to the poor and disadvantaged of Cambodia while providing further education and training of Cambodian healthcare professionals. The successful candidate, will help the hospital to continue developing and delivering our data-driven breast cancer program, run by SHCH’s Women’s Health Clinic. The breast cancer program is now in its 10th year and the information system in need of an update. Our current information system does not adequately capture all the required fields from our paper-based case report form. It was developed using Microsoft Access and contains historical data for a number of years and is not performing well. We would like to update or replace our current information system with one that captures the correct data and has better performance. The current system is a tool built using Microsoft Access, the new tool should be developed using one or more of the Microsoft technology stack including: - MS Access - VB.net - C#.net - ASP.net - MS SQL Server There are no specific requirements for it to be a desktop or web based application, that choice will up to the successful candidate. The successful candidate will also be required to communicate in English or Khmer with the Hospital Medical and IT staff to design and implement the system effectively. The attached zip file show the existing paper forms and the current tool used which is no longer working. Work package will include: - Provide and present and implementation plan to the hospital staff - Analysis of existing MS Access Application - Requirements gathering for new tool - DB design - Application architecture/design - Seek approval for the architecture/design of the software - Implementation - Unit Testing - Integration Testing - End to End Testing - Migration of data from current system - Documentation - Training of Medical staff - Training of IT staff - Deployment

Hi! The first question is - is attached form (CRF) only form that is in use to capture data or there are more? From the description of the project I think this looks like something bigger, but if that is all, things are much simpler. We can go with SQL Server as a backend database and MS Access as a frontend and there are very good and various reason to keep it in MS Access. I will go into details if you are interested. I was working on several occasions for medical centers in Switzerland making programs for similar requirements and all were so intuitive to use that no training of staff was ever needed. I am talking about fully customized user interface and so-called "friendly to use" that no training was really ever needed even when the program is used by medical staff. You can see from my reviews that I have completed all the projects I was working on with top user satisfaction and I am doing this for past 18 years. And I work very fast so the turnaround time is very short, but in any case, I need to have all the information about the database to give a more precise estimation. Also, I prefer written communication in just about everything, even when comes to user manuals (which I will provide of course). If interested, let me know and we can continue talking in chat window! Hi , i will use VB.Net for the application and MSSQL Server Standard Edition which is free for the database. For the reports i will use MSSQL Reporting Services. I will migrate all the access database to the new environment. I am very experienced working with Microsoft's tools and i have delivered a lot of applications using VB.NET. Hello, I am a certified expert Microsoft Access developer, having developed Microsoft Access applications for many companies in the healthcare industry including Genentech, Bayer Healthcare, and the Travis Airforce Base Medical Hospital. I have designed and developed Access applications for more than 10 years and am proficient in tables, data normalization, data migration, queries, SQL, form design, reporting, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Unit, integration, end-to-end testing and documentation/training is standard to what I offer. I am currently in the US, so the time difference will be a challenge, but can also be advantageous as development work can be performed off-hours and at less busy times for your staff. I am currently available full-time and can have an implementation plan drafted in a day from project acceptance. I then estimate an initial version with test data in less than a week. I expect minimal impact to your IT staff - we would only require that a network share is available and the application is installed on each client that requires it. I did spend a month in Cambodia a few years ago, so have some familiarity with the culture. Unfortunately I do not speak Khmer however.
