Back-End Java Software Development for Mobile Application

Our product: An interest-based social media platform for mobile devices. Project Overview We are developing an interest-based social media platform for iOS and Android. We are looking for a Java developer with three to four years experience of overall software development. You must have experience in building software that is high-performance, scalable, and enterprise-grade. You must be creative, self-motivated, hardworking, a team player, and always looking to innovate. You will be responsible for the maintenance, support, and development of the server side software. This includes anything between complex groups of back-end services and their client-side (mobile) counterparts. Your main responsibility will be to design and develop these applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential. Some of your tasks will include: 1. Software Development for the Server Side code of the application 2. Maintenance and Improvement of Server Side code 3. Provide Technical Support for the Mobile Development Team 4. Monitor Server performance and security 5. Plan and Implement Strategies to improve server and app performance The skills we are looking for: Proficiency with Java and its ecosystems, particularly: o Spring o Hibernate o JPA o JDBC o J2EE Solid understanding and experience with following concepts: o Object-Oriented Programming o Design and architectural patterns o Writing reusable Java libraries o Concurrency Patterns o External and embedded databases o Fundamental design principles for a scalable application o Java class loading mechanism o Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes Proficiency with the following programming languages and technologies: o JavaScript / JQuery o AJAX o Web Services (JSON and XML) and REST API Proficiency with Build Tools such as Maven, Gradle, Ant Proficiency with IDEs, like Eclipse and Android Studio Bonus (Not a requirement, but a definite plus): o Neo4j o AngularJS
