Mérida Mexico Kitchen/Dining Design Brief New freestanding building - Dimensions: 18′ wide × 30′ long, 17′ ceiling height. - Walls: • Long wall A (30′): Full-height glass with black mullions, opens to pool view. • Long wall B (30′): Cooking wall — continuous base cabinets, range, hood, sink, refrigerator. • Short wall 1 (18′): Entrance. • Short wall 2 (18′): Full-height glass with black mullions, opens to tropical garden. Cooking Wall (30′) - Cabinetry: custom made locally inset Shaker base cabinets only, with unfinished brass hardware. - Countertops: local stone, honed. - Range: Stainless steel, centered. - Hood: Salvador Reyes Ríos–style plaster hood (find image on internet) , sculptural with curving shoulders and a tall spine, above range. - Sink: Apron-front farmhouse sink, with brass bridge faucet. - Refrigerator: Stainless steel, Sub-Zero style (freestanding, not paneled) - Backsplash: Subtle Josué Ramos Espinoza–inspired (find images on internet) artisanal tile — restrained, not loud. Dining Area - Table: Seats 8, runs perpendicular to pool wall (front-to-back in room). - Lighting: three David Pompa pendants (find images on internet) (stone + brass) above table; other lighting TBD Materials & Surfaces - Flooring: Grey Santo Tomás Mexican stone, honed (continuous throughout). - Windows: Full-height black steel mullions (modern). - Ceiling: 17′, possibly with Mérida style ceiling treatment . Stylistic Intent - English deVOL kitchen style — inset Shaker, classic symmetry, farmhouse sink, brass meets sophisticated Mexican artisanal — SRR plaster hood, Espinoza-inspired backsplash, Santo Tomás stone, Pompa lighting, tropical garden integration. - Atmosphere: Airy, idiosyncratic
