This job requires may require expert Mac OS/UNIX and PostgreSQL skills.
I have upgraded my Mac from OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 to OS X Sierra 10.12.6. Since doing this, a piece of software I use (Da Vinci Resolve) no longer shows my projects, which are stored in a PostgreSQL database. Da Vinci Resolve support say this about the problem:
"The issue is that PostgreSQL 8.4 does not work in Sierra. You would need to go back to El Capitan or earlier, and then restore your database."
The problem is that I don't have an easily restorable backup. I only have a backup of the raw files - the 'data' folder containing the PostgreSQL databases (26.6GB in size).
I have since installed another hard drive and installed the older OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 on it. I now require Mac OS and PostgreSQL to be configured so that my projects stored in the database can be accessed and opened in Da Vinci Resolve again.
I will provide access via remote desktop.
I am a student currently pursuing my bachelors in Information Technology in Latvia. Since I am very much interested in Computers from a very young age. I used to help a lot of people on technical stuff.
Speaking about your task, I would like to first check the problem and come to a conclusion that whether I can solve the problem or not. In case if I am unable to solve the problem, you can find someone who can help you do this work without wasting your valuable time.
