PhP changes to add iCal functionality to my website

When you say you want an option to add an iCal link that auto-updates the calendar when the clients iCal gets updated, I don't understand what that means. What would make more sense to me is to have a file upload field where the client can upload a new iCal file and update their calendar that way. Is the current calendar system based off of iCal? I would do all of the work on a site copy from you (with database dump) that I put on my password-protected test environment. I would produce a plugin which I would give back to you.
