Create a sw program or macro to copy-paste files to another folder from a barcode scan. I want to scan a barcode and have files transferred to a different folder. Specifically I have an order number already generated in a 2d barcode, I can scan it and it appears in notepad, wordpad etc followed by return. The order number corresponds to a folder in a specific location (downloads). The barcode generates same number as folder name can contain any number of subfolders, each of which has a differently named image file (usually .png, sometimes tiff). I'd like to scan the barcode and have the appropriate files transferred to another folder (printer hot folder). Im looking for low tech, low cost solution as it is for private use. Maybe AHK, Just needs to work, If needed I can have a dedicated PC with notepad or other program open waiting to act on the barcode scan.

Hi, I am interested in this project. Would you please PM me for discussion? From my understanding, the interface do not need to be very fancy. I suggest I provide you a .exe file. When you double click on the .exe program, it will bring up a command prompt like dialog. Then you can scan the barcode as input. The program can then find the images and do a copy or move. After the image files are copied / moved, you can scan the other barcode to do a copy/move again until you quit the program.
