Configure VPN connection from Linux 14.04 / 12/04 to meraki device (sql server)

hello, you can open a port for remote connection for mysql also you can use ssh connection to create a tunneling (port forwarding) , from here you can connect to mysql, no need vpn. cheers.

Your need to setup VPN client on your server? Or VPN server on your server to connect to remote SQL? I can setup OpenVPN client or server to make this task.

When you say Meraki do you mean Cisco VPN device that is doing perimetral security functions managed with Meraki? Do you have a vpn configuration already setup within this device or you need this configuration to be done? Which hypervisor are you using, xen, kvm, virtualbox, vmware or other? If you already have the meraki configuration done and if it is a linux based hypervisor we can deploy openswan to create a S2S vpn that Will allow your host to reach resources across the vpn tunnel. I have done this before using Xen, freeswan, ubuntu or gentoo as OS to run a dedicated gateway with freeswan, open vswitch and any guest os connected to Windows Azure.
