I would like to provide you a solution with HaProxy based load balancer and high availability service. Both the web servers would be behind the HaProxy. HaProxy would route traffic to both the web servers on an active round robin method. If one server goes down, Haproxy will immediate sense it and stop sending traffic to it till its restored. The web user will never be able to see if any webserver is down or not abailable. Its a full proof concept of loadbalancing, high availability and failover by haproxy. You need to set up a load balancer. If your servers are in aws, then this would be straightforward. Otherwise we can setup haproxy or dns based load balancer.
