Programmer needed for sporting events website. **We will provide all graphics and text for basic content.** ## Deliverables **Building a website for a sporting events company that has events every year for the following events:** ** ** **Swim Event** Will likely take place in a lake, river or possibly a coastline option has not been limited. This will have a mass start of between 10 - 100 athletes and is likely to be laps. Common distances are 1 mile, 2.4 miles. ** ** **Bike Event - Sportive** This event will take place on roads, road bikes and time trial bikes. It will be a fairly relaxed, staggered start with singles and small groups riding. It is likely that these events will hold up to 500+ athletes. Common distances are 50 - 100 miles. **Bike Event - Enduro** This will be multiple laps of a short distance route, a mass start and will be off road on mountain bikes or trail bikes. Mud and water are of definite occurrence and is a test of endurance. It will be a mass start event with the event lasting a number of hours. ** ** **Run Event ** These will be mass starts, can be on road or off road. Also they will be a variety of distances, from 5km, 10km, half (13.1 miles) and even full marathon of 26.2miles. You can expect to see an upper limit of thousands for a great event. ** ** **Aquathlon** This is a combination of swimming and running elements, the distances are not necessarily fixed and the swim can be pool or open water based, with the run being on or off road. Usual format is swim run. ** ** **Duathlon** This is a combination of biking and running elements, the distances again are not necessarily fixed, usually the first run will be longer than the [login to view URL] format run bike run. This can be a mix of on and off road. ** ** **Triathlon** This is the overall header of events with a combination of swimming, cycling and running, in the format for the usual and common event. Event distances very according to event location. Sprint format - 400/750m swim, 20/25km bike, 5km run Olympic format - 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run Half - 1900m swim, 90km bike, 21km run Ironman 2400m swim, 180km bike, 42km run No event is restricted solely to these descriptions or distances. These will be the more commonly participated events. New combinations or distances can be achieved to create, even a completely new event. **The programming features need to include the following:** ** ** Free site registration: With profile support (user submits profile information and when logged in can update this information) Basics like Name, Date of birth, height, athletic skills, ( Cycling, Running, Swimming, Triathlon Statistics etc...) Training Programs: (sent to user via email or download link PDF file based on user submitted profile information.) Search for events: simple search for different events based on location, Date, price, and event type. List of events featured with brief description and dates displayed on a google calendar as well as pdf links that can be downloaded by the user. Event sign up: Users have the option to sign up to events by selecting which event they would like to participate in and purchase selected events using Paypal or secure credit card payment method. ( Paypal may be sufficient for initial set up. ) Payment option: to select events in a shopping cart fashion i.e: pay for each event with one payment after selecting events to participate in. Event promotion section: Section on site to promote up coming events. This section will need to be a blog style section with a content management tool of sorts that will allow admin to post events along with pictures or logos and include a link to the event sign up page so that users can sign up for events featured. These sections will also need a way to upload sponsor logos that relate to the event. This section needs to be simple and easy to use. This section can be set up like a standard blog page within the site. I think it will be important for us to toggle between options for events, when setting up an account on this website then you can select custom questions which you want to ask and then also decide whether you want an optional answer or a compulsory answer eg optional - what team do you race for?, compulsory - what is your 5km run time?. And again these questions we will need to have freedom to edit. RFID timing system integrated into site: use an active RFID timing system to provide real time results for triathlon, duathlon, running and cycling events. You can then select each individual event, the one you took part in and this has an uploaded PDF format from the timing system. The organizers upload this. And the participants download this. This site will be based in the UK and will eventually grow to other countries and regions. All Graphics for this site will be provided in the format that best suits you... The basic site design will be provided and programming services will be needed to link all parts of the site together in an efficient SEO standard manor. Please include cost estimate.
