This is a RFP for a project based on WordPress running on LAMP. This request requires knowledge of WordPress, PHP, MySQL and XML. I need help ASAP! If you are familiar with this stuff it should be relatively EASY MONEY for you. Knowledge of DreamHost shared-servers would be useful too, but not necessary.
## Deliverables
Hello,
I have a functioning website built on [login to view URL] at [login to view URL]; however, there are a number of modifications that need to be made, including: PHP coding, page imports to MySQL and XML feed repair. Here is the project in more detail:
1) WordPress - need help with PHP coding in the sidebar of 'City' pages (described in detail here: [login to view URL])
2) Add 'web spider' friendly (HTML/CSS) weather information to every page related to a city on avasflowers.com. The site is created using templates, so this solution should include using the WordPress custom fields I have created. Currently each page has a field for Zip Code, City and State (available in both abbreviated and spelled out form - ie. NY and New York). This data can be called using the WordPress function get_post_meta.
3) JavaScript redirect - need to send people to [login to view URL] home page when the js banner is clicked on the [login to view URL] pages (main/state/local). When it is clicked on the subpages, it currently sends people to a 404 page on the [login to view URL] site, however, I was able to redirect clicks from the sites root directory ([login to view URL]) using the .htaccess file..
4) Adjust CSS settings so that when you click on the header image it links to avasflowers.net. I attempted to do this, unsuccessfully, in the [login to view URL] file (also see: id="picmap" in the HTML) by using the following:
.custom #picmap a {
position: absolute;
top: 0px;
left: 366px;
height: 140px;
width: 770px;
text-decoration: none;
}
5) Fix the RSS feed for [login to view URL] Currently, when the user clicks on the RSS2.0 feed ([login to view URL]), the output is not parsing correctly because there is an extra space at the beginning of the XML header. I can't figure out how to fix this, but this site gives good feedback: [login to view URL]://[login to view URL]
6) This site will host a large number of pages which are mostly static (except for the widgets which automatically update per there associated API or feed). Currently, we have approximately 2,700 pages, but will have close to 45,000 pages when complete. We have been using XML files with the WP import function to create these pages; however, we also use DreamHost and there is a pre-set PHP memory allocation on our shared-server. This has caused errors with our sites back-end (WP admin interface). Specifically, we receive a "memory allocation error" message when attempting to access the Manage > Pages interface. I suspect that there are three potential work-arounds to this problem: (a) Install our own custom PHP/Apache build onto our server where we can control the memory allocation, or (b) Import the pages offline through a local WP installation, or lastly, (c) use some alternative method to directly import our data into the MySQL database. Suggested alternatives are also welcome.
There are most likely WordPress Plugins (which you are welcome to use) that will help us achieve some of this. Thank you!
