We have an HR / Finance system that runs on MS SQL server and we run Microsoft Active Directory Services. I'd like to run a script on a scheduled basis that would look for changes in the HR system and update our AD and vice-versa. Employee titles, locations, demographic info, etc...

Question : What is the Active directory services version and MSSQL version ? Solution steps : An SSIS package ,SQL script, PowerShell script to be created and either of them can be scheduled over SQL agent job. Inside SSIS , again an SQL ,.NET script, PowerShell can be used and SSIS can be scheduled in SQL agent job. The other way is to schedule the SQL, SSIS, PowerShell directly in agent job. Details about my experience : I am a Microsoft community Contributor for 2011 awarded by Microsoft and have been effectively executing data migration, data warehousing projects in MS SQL 2012, 2014. Also worked in 2000,2005,2008,2008R2 as well.

This can be done using a linked server and then doing a open query to retrieve data from Active directory .For keeping the data synchronized a ssis job or a sql server job can be created to keep the data updated on regular basis
