Use the attached Excel file ([url removed, login to view]) to do the analysis. You will submit in the assignment area a Word document which is your management report to the CEO (me in this case) and the Excel file with your calculations. Your Word file should be a well-written analysis of the questions below. Do label clearly as instructed in the enclosed exercise ( exercise 2 [url removed, login to view]). You will be also graded on "attention to detail" so do read the instructions carefully. You should apply your lessons learned from the progress reports to this exercise. Please note this is an assessment and therefore I cannot answer questions on how to do this exercises until after the due date. So the way to learn how to do this is like with all readings (in this case chapter 10) use the Q&A conference if you don't understand something. For descriptive stats as a minimum, you should have means, variance, the test statistics including alpha (level of significance .05 or .01 etc, the t or z value pre- computed representing the rejection region and then the actual computed z or t. You can lose points if you fail to do this or still have long decimal places such as 17.33994947777566 instead of 17.34 or even stating numbers such as 17.34 without saying the unit such as 17.34 mean degrees or 17.34 pounds or whatever. Using the vague word average is unacceptable such as an average of 17.34 dollars instead of a mean of 17.34 dollars. Also lose points if I read statements that I accept Ho (you never accept Ho) or if you fail to reject Ho (u>5 degrees) you then state, we could not reject Ho therefore we conclude the mean is greater than five degrees. If you state something like that then you will lose points as well. If in that example, greater than 5 is important, then that should be your Ha. You are testing for Ha (your hypothesis). You are not testing the null hypothesis...that's what you want to reject. If you don't want to reject then you need to reverse your hypothesis statements.
Also in your Exercise 2 tell me specifically what two means test you used and why. Know the differences between the types of two sample tests and which one is appropriate to use.
Lastly, you only have one set of hypothesis statements but two versions of the one set: numeric and narrative. Make sure they are the same. Also make sure your discussion matches the hypothesis statements! Mismatches between the hypothesis statements and what the student says is the hypothesis is a common error in about 30% of the student submission. Loss of these points shouldn't happen. Pay attention to detail and make sure all your statements are consistent. How you write this is as important as your calculations.
Please do not fall into those traps above which will lose points! Also points have been lost by students who ignore what the CEO says in the Exercise. Remember, you work for him and the company.
