I am looking to hire a comic book artist. I'm still not 100% sure yet on what art style I'm looking for, but I am like 80%. To get a better sense of what kind of art I would like. Check out Spider-Gwen, NewWave H.A.T.E, Spider Man around 1998 and up
-Roman Rasonas' Deadpool and Spiderman art is probably the coolest I've seen so far.
Other skills I'm looking for:
-Can draw backgrounds: buildings, landscapes, trees, beds, lamps, explosions, car crashes, etc.
-Has a fairly wide range in facial expressions. For example: mad, angry, and furious for the "hate" facial category.
- Understands Perspective pretty well.
-Can draw fairly realistic looking vehicles.
-Can draw mechanical looking things like guns, wheelchairs, lab equipment, etc.
I'd like for the art to be somewhere along those lines. I'm always intrigued by unique art styles as well, especially if you have an even more realistic detailed style artwork. I'm looking to pay around 400-500 dollars for a whole comic (around 25-30 pgs.) no cover art. You must be willing to sign a Non-disclosure agreement and a Work-for-hire agreement before we go into the details. I'm still in the process of editing the rough draft, but I'm planning to make it about 25-30 pages long. I Will probably have it finished and ready to hand over to whoever I hire in about 4 weeks or so from today. Yes, I know that isn't such a great pay, but it's my budget as of right now. I'm hoping to come across someone who's fairly new and wants to build up their client base and get some reviews, but anyone interested I encourage to apply. I'm willing to talk about a higher price if I really like your work and if you're really interested. Send me links to your portfolios. I'm going to be checking your work whenever I'm not working on the comic book.
Also, I plan on making a whole series of comics, I have about 8 superheroes in mind and in the future I will be creating a superhero group as well. It's going to be sick! You forgot to mention whether you need a drawing artist, an inker or a colourer, though.
I'm an old-school (comic) artist, so I could offer handcrafted work somewhat similar to Spider-Gwen in pen and ink for a flat rate of 500 USD for 25 pages given you have the storyboard more or less figured out, since it is virtually 1/4 of what I normally charge. The rate is of not particular importance if the story is interesting, but colour would cost much more, as you are surely aware, since you are obviously looking for high quality work. My offer would be for watercolours, which take time, but which allow for incomparably better overall impression. Also, since I'm working by hand, we would also need a letterer.
