Learning Luxembourgish with speaking Flashcards is a project where students will be able to see and hear short phrases in Luxembourgish on one card and verify what they see and/or hear on the other card written in French, English and Portuguese.
The cards are organised by
Level: A1, A2, B1, B2+
Theme: Health, Transport, Work environment, At Home, Grammar, Leisure,
Mode 1 without registering: Learners are able to use the program either on a computer screen, an ipad, an android or ios phone (as many devices as possible).
Mode 2: Learners may register and monitor their progress whereby they are able to test their knowledge of a card 7 times. Each time they check a card, it moves from the 1st 'box' to the 2nd, then to the 3rd, until they have reached the 7th box. This is an indication that the content of the card has reached their long-term memory. As they move through a cycle and check a card in a box and they are unsuccessful, the card stays in the same box.
Mode 3: Learners should be able to download the program on their chosen platform (google play, apple store) so that they can use it offline. A small fee can demanded. Ideally the program/app should be free of charge and users are encouraged to 'pay it forward' to those in need at some stage.
What I provide as a language teacher:
1. A google spreadsheet with the following columns:
Level, Theme, Luxembourgish, French, English, Portuguese (The last 3 languages can also be in the same column, below each other)
2. Audio recording in Luxembourgish of each card.
This project is meant to be a collective endeavour and a tool for all people wishing to learn to understand and speak Luxembourgish. It will also help learners improve their knowledge of the other three languages (French, English, Portuguese).
On a regular basis (every 3 months) an update on the spreadsheet is intended and there should be an easy way to integrate new cards into the website.
As this is my first project of this kind, a encourage feedback as to how this project could be improved or imagined another way.

Credit: Full credit will be given to the chosen developer/s. Again a collective project is recommended and crowd funding may be available
