The job will be to design, build and populate, write test code in C then DHL a double sided PCB for a prototype that has a PIC microcontroller, 14 etched capacitive buttons and an RF transceiver IC (CR95HF) with an etched 13.56MHz antenna. The main reason I am doing this prototype is to test the possibility/problems of having the etched 13.56MHz RF antenna in between the capacitive buttons (as shown in the sketch below). Before you start designing please do a small cost benefit analysis (a few sentences only) of PIC’s mTouch vs other methods of implementing capacitive buttons in terms of implementation cost & component count. I would prefer if the schematic/PCB capture was in either Altium or Eagle, the code however must be in C and programmed preferably using PICKIT 3. If you do not have Altium, Eagle or PICKIT 3 please let me know when you quote so I can see if I can accept the different software package/programmer DO NOT include the cost of buying the components or shipping the PCBs in your quote , I will pay you separately for that as you do not know the cost now. I can do a PCB prototype, and test the functionality and fix problems if they occur, and tuning the antenna parameters. I work with Altium. I like STM32, and recently SAMD21(I deep worked), they have the support of the capacitive buttons. For RFID 13.56MHz, I am basically used the RC522.

Hello, I can do this job for you in Cadsoft Eagle (or in Altium, if you prefer it) including schematics design, PCB layout, firmware, and also a simple user interface for your PC if you want it (it is not required, but could be very usful) for Windows or Linux platform. Thanks.

I have experience in RF, so I think will be useful for this project. For the PCB design usually I use OrCAD, I think it can export in different file formats. For programming can I use PicKit3 and the programming tools from Microchip. I have more than 15 years of experience on PCB designs, and 3 years of experience on RF PCB designs. I'v been working with several PCB software designs, in particular with Altium Designer. Also I have access to laboratory equipment to test the prototype in RF terms. Metodology: 1) Evaluate the capacitive interface alternatives and choose one solution (2 days) 2) Make a mockup layout for an RF characterization trough simulation (1 day) 3) Build the mockup layout and verify experimentally the impedance value of the antenna (5 days) 4) Send a fabrication order of the PCB Gerbers files to Oshpark (14 days) 5) In parallel, from day 1, code the required software (10 days) 6) Populate the PCB with an electronic controlled Temperature oven ( 1 day) 7) Characterize and Debug the PCB (20 days, it can be less depending on the problems found) 8) Document the process and results, Generate a technical report including the characterization of the board and all relevant information. 9) Send the prototype to the client (the transport cost is not included in the payment) The methodology is based on my experience, feel free to contact me for more details!
