Skin Pigmentation
The human skin color is an inevitable factor which cannot be changed or altered. However, with age and certain severe diseases, the skin tends to lose color and turn pale. That's mostly caused due to pigmentation of the skin. The skin pigmentation amount for your skin is a predetermined skin feature, which is usually dictated by the ancestors and the sexes. Males are likely to have more pigmentation than the females irrespective of their heritage or skin color.
Pigmentation basically means skin coloring. The color of human skin can have varied ranges- it can ether be of a very light tone, such as pinkish or reddish white allowing the visibility of the blood vessels or very dark. In case of any disorders related to skin pigmentation, your skin is likely to lose its color. The color of the skin is determined by the presence of a typical melanin, which we call the pigment present in the skin.
Skin pigmentation can either be Hyper pigmentation or Hypo pigmentation. Hyper pigmentation affects the darker areas of the skin and is caused due to excessive melanin production as well as deposition. Hypopigmenation is basically skin pigmentation loss.
COMMON CAUSES
Genetic factors are the most common cause of skin pigmentation. Apart from that, we can also blame certain auto immune conditions as well as drugs for causing such pigmentations.
