Arduino step motor controller with keyboard (incremental encoder)

Do you already have a servomotor for this task? 1500 mm is a big distance for the most types of the servo motors with a belt transmission - it will be to weak for any serious load. I would recommend to use stepper motors for this. In that case a price for the project will be higher. Please feel free to contact me in a chat for a discussion. Are you planning to use a 16x2 alphanumeric LCD - or some sort of colour LCD? What kind of servo motor are you planning to use? I think the only servo motors I have for testing are lightweight SG90 motors (which I suspect would not provide enough torque for the application) - but that might not be a showstopper. Have you selected a particular Arduino microcontroller already? (E.g., an Uno or a Mega?) If you have already prepared electrical schematics, perhaps you could share them. Otherwise I could prepare something simple in KiCAD. Lastly ... How soon do you need the work completed? I might need to adjust my bid (price and / or timeframe) based on your answers to the above questions.
